Passing the time, waiting!

The girls are doing schoolwork and I am spending most of my time thinking bad thoughts about VPN Express, which can't stay connected long enough for me to post much of anything on the blog or Facebook.

Anyway, here are some shots of the gorgeous Garden Hotel in Guangzhou. I've told the girls not to get used to this level of luxury! Poor Alex will think this is his new life. Then he will go home to our house full of dog hair and antique (read, well-worn) furniture, cracked plaster walls and tons of clutter, and wonder what the heck happened to the lap of luxury he so briefly experienced in China!

Our hotel has a stunningly beautiful garden (hence the name Garden Hotel) with waterfalls, meandering waterways of koi and goldfish, tropical greenery and flowers. I hope we get in many walks!

We have a suite with a separate bedroom.

Glass walls in the bathroom -- something I don't think you'll see in hotels in the US, at least the ones we frequent! (There is a remote-controlled blind you can lower.)
